The story

Behind the Stack Sats tee

Every sat counts. The Stack Sats t-shirt is the uniform of the disciplined Bitcoiner who stacks satoshis day after day, cycle after cycle.

A satoshi, or sat, is the smallest unit of bitcoin: one hundred millionth of a coin, named after bitcoin's pseudonymous creator. Because a whole bitcoin is out of reach for many people, the community started counting in sats instead. “Stack sats” describes buying small amounts on a regular schedule, often called dollar-cost averaging, and watching the pile grow slowly over time. The piggy bank is about the oldest savings symbol there is, which makes it a natural mascot for the habit.

An easygoing pick for coffee runs, school pickups and casual Fridays. The single orange outline feels friendly rather than aggressive, so it suits people who like bitcoin but don't want a slogan shouting from their chest. A thoughtful gift for a friend who just set up their first recurring buy.

Questions

About this design

What are sats?

Sats is short for satoshis. There are 100 million satoshis in one bitcoin, so a single sat equals 0.00000001 BTC. Counting in sats makes small purchases feel like real progress instead of a string of tiny decimals.

What does DCA mean for stackers?

DCA stands for dollar-cost averaging: buying a fixed dollar amount at regular intervals, whatever the price that day. Many stackers use it to avoid trying to time the market. We are describing the term here, not giving financial advice.

Why is there a piggy bank on a bitcoin shirt?

A piggy bank is the universal picture of saving a little at a time, which is exactly what stacking sats is about. Drawn as one orange line, it comes across as cheerful and approachable instead of a hard-edged crypto graphic.
