The best gifts for bitcoiners match the way they already live with bitcoin: a shirt that fits their sense of humor, a tool that helps them keep their coins safe, or a reason to spend time with other bitcoiners. Start with the person's personality, then pick the gift.
This guide does exactly that. We group our own tees by the kind of bitcoiner you're shopping for, add a short list of gift ideas we don't sell, and finish with timing tips so a holiday order actually arrives before the holiday.
Start with the person, not the coin
Most bitcoin gift ideas online fall into two buckets: novelty gadgets that end up in a drawer, or advice on giving bitcoin itself. Neither tells you much about the person opening the box. A better question is how they talk about bitcoin. Do they barely mention it, or do they quote forum posts from 2013 at dinner? Are they new and curious, or have they been around since coins cost a few dollars?
Pick the description below that sounds most like your person.
The minimalist
This is the bitcoiner who would rather you didn't notice right away. They like good basics, quiet details and clothes they can wear to work without starting a debate.
The Bitcoin Logo tee is made for them: one small orange B on the left chest, sitting where a polo brand would go. From across the room it reads as a plain black tee. Up close, other bitcoiners spot it instantly. If they would rather wear the mark centered under the collar, our bitcoin logo shirts page shows that version too, along with the other logo designs.
The meme lord
They send you charts with laser eyes drawn on and reply to bad news with a single word. For them, the joke is the point.
The HODL tee is the obvious pick, the misspelled battle cry in thick white letters with an orange coin standing in for the O. If they'd enjoy a gift that comes with a story, pair it with our guide on what HODL means so they can retell the 2013 forum post at parties. For the math nerd version of the same sense of humor, the Infinity / 21M tee puts the fraction everyone in bitcoin recognizes, everything divided by 21 million, in pixel-style lettering.
The OG
They remember when a bitcoin cost less than a pizza topping, or at least they wish they did. They care about history and respect the people who built it.
The Satoshi tee is our tribute to bitcoin's anonymous creator: big yellow lettering above a cheeky smiley whose eyes are bitcoin symbols, styled like an old band shirt. It is an independent fan design with no connection to anyone named on it. The Bitcoin Retro tee is the other OG favorite, with BTC in fat yellow arcade letters and a stacked pink shadow that looks lifted from a 1980s game cabinet.
The stacker
Every week, without fail, a little more goes onto the pile. They don't talk about price much. They talk about sats.
Give them the Stack Sats tee, an orange line-drawn piggy bank that sums up their entire strategy in one picture. It makes a good pair with HODL if you're buying two.
The newcomer
They just bought their first bit of bitcoin and are still figuring out the vocabulary. Pick something they can wear without having to explain an inside joke, like the Bitcoin Retro or the Bitcoin Logo tee. Then send them a link to our guide on how many sats are in a bitcoin, which is usually the first thing they'll want to understand.
Bitcoin gift ideas beyond the shirt
We only sell tees, so here are a few other ideas in general terms. No brand recommendations, no affiliate links.
- A hardware wallet. A small device that keeps private keys offline. Buy it new and directly from the maker rather than a third-party reseller, and let the recipient set it up themselves. It is the practical side of the saying covered in our guide on not your keys, not your coins.
- A classic bitcoin book. There are good ones for every level, from first explainers to deep histories. Pick based on whether they're a beginner or a veteran. For a free bonus, print a clean copy of the nine-page Bitcoin white paper and slip it in.
- A meetup or conference ticket. Many cities have regular bitcoin meetups, and larger conferences run throughout the year. Time with other bitcoiners is often the gift they remember.
- Some sats. Sending a small amount through a reputable app works, but ask how they'd like to receive it first, ideally to a wallet they control. This is a gift, not an investment tip, and nothing here is financial advice.
Timing tips for bitcoin Christmas gifts and holidays
Because every shirt is printed to order, plan a little ahead. Most orders are printed and shipped within 3 to 4 business days, and delivery inside the continental US usually takes about 5 more days after that. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US territories take closer to two weeks. We ship to US addresses only.
For a Christmas gift, aim for roughly two weeks of buffer inside the continental US and about a month for Alaska, Hawaii and the territories. Carriers get busy in December, and we can't promise holiday delivery dates beyond those normal times. A couple more practical notes:
- Two tees go over $75, which qualifies for free US shipping.
- If the size is wrong, unworn and unwashed tees can be exchanged for another size of the same design within 30 days. Details are on our returns and exchanges page.
- Not sure of their size? Sneak a look at the tag on a t-shirt they wear all the time. Our tees are a unisex cut, which is worth keeping in mind if they usually buy women's sizes.
Full timing details are on our shipping policy page, and the complete gift lineup is on our bitcoin gifts page.
