The story
Behind the Zap tee
On Lightning, sending bitcoin takes about as long as tapping a heart icon. This tee celebrates the zap, the tiny instant tip that made sats social.
The Lightning Network is a payment layer built on top of bitcoin that settles small payments almost instantly for very low fees. On Nostr, an open social network, a zap is a Lightning tip attached to a post, defined in a standard called NIP-57. Instead of a like, you send a few sats straight to the author. Zaps made tipping in bitcoin feel casual, and zap became the everyday word for sending sats to someone you appreciate.
A bright, energetic shirt for Lightning and Nostr users, podcast fans and anyone who tips creators in sats. The bolt is bold and graphic, almost sporty, so it suits the gym, a conference floor or a weekend out. Easy to spot in a crowd.
Questions
About this design
What is a zap?
A zap is a small bitcoin payment sent over the Lightning Network, most often as a tip on a Nostr post. The sats go directly to the person who posted, and the zap shows publicly on the post, a bit like a like that carries real value.
Do I need a special wallet to send zaps?
You need a wallet that supports Lightning and a Nostr app that can connect to it. Several free apps handle both. Once it is set up, a zap takes a single tap, which is the speed the bolt on this shirt celebrates.
Why is SEND SATS printed in orange?
The orange line is the instruction and the white ZAP is the action word. Matching the smaller text to the orange bolt above ties the design together, so it reads from top to bottom as one quick message.
