Nine pages started it all. This tee carries the subtitle of the document that first described bitcoin, along with the day it reached the world.
On October 31, 2008, a message signed Satoshi Nakamoto reached a cryptography mailing list with a link to a short paper titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.” In nine pages it explained how people could pay each other directly without a bank, using proof of work and a public chain of blocks to stop double spending. The network launched about two months later, and the paper is still free to read at bitcoin.org.
A thoughtful pick for developers, readers and anyone who likes to quote primary sources. The three lines of type read like a book title, calm rather than loud, so it works at the office or a lecture. Halloween birthdays get a bonus: the paper turns a year older that same day.
No. It is an independent tribute designed by Bitcoin Casual. It is not affiliated with, licensed by or endorsed by Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcoin.org or any developer. The printed words are the paper's title, quoted here only to celebrate its history.
Day, month, year is how much of the world writes dates, and the dotted style gives the line a technical, timestamp feel. It marks October 31, 2008, the day the paper was announced on the cryptography mailing list.
It runs about nine pages including diagrams and references. A few sections use math, but the introduction and conclusion are plain enough for a curious beginner. Reading it once is a good way to understand what the words on this shirt describe.
