Every bitcoiner has had the same conversation fifty times. This shirt skips to the polite exit: no debate, no thread, just an hourglass and a short apology that does the talking for you.
The wording echoes a reply Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, posted on the BitcoinTalk forum on July 29, 2010. A user had argued that ten-minute confirmations were too slow, and the answer closed with a short, slightly weary line about not having time to persuade anyone. Bitcoiners have repeated it for years as a way to bow out of an argument. The shirt is a loose riff on that spirit and is not connected to or endorsed by anyone.
Wear it to a family dinner where someone is bound to ask, a conference hallway or the pub after work. Instead of starting round fifty-one of the same argument, you can just point at your chest and ask for a pass on the topic.
It echoes a July 29, 2010 post on the BitcoinTalk forum by Bitcoin's creator, written in reply to a user who thought confirmation times were too slow. Bitcoiners later turned the closing sentence into a stock way of ending a debate. This shirt only echoes the idea.
No. The design is an independent tribute to a well-known forum line, with no affiliation to or approval from Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator or anyone else. The words on the shirt are a playful variation, written for the people who wear it, not a quotation from a person.
It stands in for the one thing the shirt says you are short on: time. The sand has nearly run out, so the explanation will have to wait. It is also a simple orange outline object that sits neatly above the words without crowding them.
