The story
Behind the Bitcoin Boss tee
There’s a new boss in town. The Bitcoin Boss t-shirt is for those who know that no central bank, no government and no fiat can compete with BTC.
The bitcoin sign is a capital B crossed by two short vertical strokes, much like the bar through a dollar sign. It became familiar enough to earn its own character, ₿, in the Unicode standard that computers and phones use for text. Turning that sign into the first letter of BOSS plays on a favorite bitcoin idea: be your own bank. Holding your own keys means no middleman decides when, or whether, you can move your money.
Bold but tidy, a good fit for founders, freelancers and anyone who works for themselves. The outline lettering leaves plenty of black showing, so it looks clean with a blazer or with jeans. A natural gift for a new business owner who holds bitcoin.

About this design
Why does the B in BOSS have lines through it?
Those vertical strokes turn an ordinary B into the bitcoin sign. At a glance the word reads as BOSS, and on a second look you notice the currency symbol hiding in the first letter.
What does “be your own bank” mean?
It refers to keeping bitcoin in a wallet where you control the private keys, instead of leaving it with a company. You can send and receive without asking permission, but you also take full responsibility for keeping those keys safe.
Are the BOSS letters solid or outlined?
Outlined. The letters are wide white outlines with the black shirt showing through, which keeps a large word from feeling heavy. The print is bigger than our small logo tees but lighter on the eye than solid block type.
